This project explores the tension between change and familiarity, looking to Northern Renaissance portraiture as a symbol of permanence in contrast with contemporary fashion’s constant reinvention. Regal, composed poses are deliberately juxtaposed with experimental garments that distort and extend the body into unfamiliar forms. Restrained compositions and silky golden light borrow from the stillness and intimacy of classical painting, while unconventional silhouettes pull the imagery firmly into the present. The result is deliberately between portrait and fashion image, past and future.
